I used the Mapserver buildkit 521 found here: http://www.gatewaygeomatics.com/dl/buildkit/

I created a makefile.vc and a nmake.opt files. I will attach these files soon after testing is done.

I also managed to build a ms4w package installer (http://www.maptools.org/ms4w/index.phtml) for Tinyows.

Hi folks,

I've got some naives questions related to Win32 TinyOWS support:

  • Do we really need this 2 files in SVN ?
    • tinyows-svn-2005.vcproj.user
    • tinyows-svn-2005.vcproj.SHRECK.Normand\ Savard.user
  • If we want/need to add an extra C file (or remove/rename an existing one) in the compile process, what steps are required to update that with nmake and vcproj files ?

Voila, no others questions right now :)

I personally would be in favor of using the name.opt/makefile.vc vs VC++ project files. I find it easier to maintain in general (adding files, switching compiler versions ... ). Are there major reasons not just stick to this?

The current build on tinyow should work fine with ms4w. I can upload a version if It is needed. Note the the next version of ms4w will be built with MSVC2008 and be released pretty soon (1-2 weeks; same time as Map Server? 5.4). We might want to wait for that and do a tinyows for ms4w at that moment. Let me know what you think.

There is also the OSGeo4W packake and I usaully update the Mapserver releases for it. If you guys want, I can also add a tinyows package for it.

I plan a 0.7 tinyows version tied to PostGIS 1.4 (in April so)
There's still somes tickets i want to close before
And yes at this time it will be a good thing to provide Win32 versions: plain cgi binary, ms4w package and also OSGeo4W one
Look's good :)

ok, I will prepare at that time binaries for ms4w and osgeo4w for the 0.7 release.

Note that I will prepare a tinyows package for the upcoming MS4W 3.0 release. Bug on MS4W related to this is http://bugzilla.maptools.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2045

  • status changed from assigned to closed
  • resolution set to fixed

As there's an existing Win32 support via MS4W, i close this ticket.
